Joanne comes across as a very generous, kind person. She's easily impressed and is rather naive at times. While she can sometimes seem very mature and maternal, there are a lot of things that she is rather clueless about. She's easily tricked and tends to be a bit gullable, but she does manage to learn from her past mistakes. She's very sweet and she finds it rather difficult to hate people and is usually willing to give people second chances. She's an optimist, but is sometimes to optimistic for her own good.

Phobia:
Riots: While disliking warfare, it is riots that Joanne is truly afraid of. This comes from being caught in the middle of one as a young child.

Family:
Joanne's parents, along with her older brother, are deceased. They died in the Desert Wars.

History:
Joanne was born during the beginning of the Desert Wars in Eastern Africa, which began twenty-two years after the area had been largely destroyed by Chaos. The countries there had barely managed to stay civil with each other as the water and food supplies continued to become further and further depleted. Eventually, when supplies of both water and food reached a critical low, full-scale war broke out in the region, over who would control the last of the supplies. Joanne's parents and her older brother were all drafted into the Kenyan army. Joanne, along with other orphan children, were taken in by priests who kept a temple in the area.

The war was over in three years, but there was no victor. The priests, knowing that the children needed to be in a place where there was water, food, and shelter, gathered the children they had left and began the long and perilous journey to the North, where life had been restored by Sailor Cosmos before her death. While many children, and most of the priests, died on the journey, a small group of three priests and seven children, managed to arrive safely in Egypt, one of the strongholds of the Golden Crown, known as the world help organization.

The group that arrived in Egypt included the then four-year old Joanne, she and two other toddlers having been cared for by the older members of the group. Joanne grew up within the Golden Crown's headquarters, eventually joining the group herself when she grew to be thirteen. It was on the day she joined that one of the priests, the last remaining of the group that had crossed the desert, told her of the power that was hidden inside her. He taught her how to release it and told her of the lost Silver Crystal.

After hearing of the Crystal's power, Joanne decided that she would attempt to find the lost Crystal, in order to complete the purification that Sailor Cosmos was unable to finish. She began to accept away missions, searching for the Crystal on any occasion she could get. She first encountered the Tainted when she was fourteen, and managed to defeat this weak one. However, in her next battle with one that was far stronger, she nearly lost her life, because she lacked any offensive attacks. She managed to defeat it, though and three months later, she came across a Canadian boy named Noir, who held powers of sound. He joined her, upon hearing her story.

Several months later, they also encountered a young girl by the name of Hazel Maddox, who carried the powers of light. After saving her from one of the Tainted, they awakened her dormant power. She later joined them after that.

Crystal Power, Make Up!: Joanne closes her eyes and cups her hands in front of her, chanting these words. Her body glows with a pale pink aura, which then seeps upwards, turning her hair the same color. A light forms within her hands and she unclasps them, spreading her arms outwards and letting the light spread in front of her. It travels down her body, enveloping her and forming her fuku, then moving onto the next part until all her fuku has appeared. Healing Embrace: Sanctimonia closes her eyes and spreads her arms outwards, pale pink energy glowing about her. She chants the attack name softly and brings her arms together, her staff appearing in them. The energy gathers in the staff, then spreads outwards, healing anything it touches.

Sacred Purity Dance: Sanctimonia raises her staff upwards with both hands, chanting the attack name. Pale pink energy gathers in the staff as she spins around three times, the staff letting out flares of the energy each time. It purifies whatever it touches.

Crystal Wave: Sanctimonia holds her staff horizontally, pointing towards her enemy. Energy gathers in the crystal of the staff, growing to a large size, before it shatters into energy crystals. These crystals fly towards the enemy, severing any kind of puppet spell as they pass harmlessly through them.
