Ikangi, flowers and plants, helping others, exploring the world, and sleeping in the sun.
Dislikes:
Demons, Emperor Moru, scary stories, blood, vomit, rank smells, gore of any kind, sour food and spicy foods.
Personality:
Barya is kind-natured and very sweet. However, she tends to be very naive and gullible, a result of living a very sheltered life. She'll believe almost anything she's told, unless it's proven to be otherwise untrue. She's easily frightened. Her trust can be difficult to gain back once it's been lost, regardless if the reason that her trust was lost was actually true or not.
Powers:
Barya is a Flower Mage, and is able to invoke various spells from different kinds of flowers.
Crimson Mage- The Fire Control flower. Invoking this spell allows Barya to control the flow of fire to her desire.
Amber Unity- The Hypnosis flower. A rare flower, it's spell can temporarily put people under Barya's control. Every petal of the flower counts as a minute, when they are all used up, the spell is ended.
Aor- The Air flower. This flower's spell can be used to create air where there is none, or to allow the flow of air to return to normal.
The Aurora Flowers- The Illusion Flower. Invoking this flower can either create illusions, or break them, depending on which species of Aurora Flower it is.
Moonflower- The Healing flower. Invoking this spell can allow Barya to heal wounds of any severity. This particular flower is rare, however.
Solflower- The Light flower. Invoking this spell allows Barya to blind her enemies in a flash of light. Useful for quick escape, and common.
History:
The Eternity Blossom is the oldest plant in Shangri-la, a large blue and silver flower, that sits upon the branches of the Tree of Infinity. Once every year, the Eternity Blossom opens up, giving birth to a race of creatures known as Flower Children. These beings can take on the appearance of any of the other races- human, elf, or demon. These children are raised from birth by one of the priests of the tree.
Barya is a Flower Child, born in the resemblance of a human. She was put under the care of an elderly priest, and was taught to control her power of the magic of flowers, receiving her six invoking flowers, as all Flower Children have. As she came into her mature age of thirteen, she was released to experience the world and find her place in it.
As fate would have it, it was the same year that the Emperor Moru struck, his armies of demons over-running the land. The man took the Tree of Infinity for his own, killing the priests and taking the remaining Flower Children for his own uses. Fearful of his wrath, Barya did not return to the tree, and instead fled, further and further away from his armies.
While fleeing, Barya encountered a wounded young man. Unaware that this was the Great Slayer, the leader of Moru's demon army, she healed him with the power of one of her few Moonflowers. She was also unaware that in doing so, she broke the spell of control that Moru had been keeping him under. The truth was revealed to her when the Demon Army fell upon them, Moru himself coming to claim back his lost commander. Afraid, Barya turned and fled, being pursued by a small group of the Demon Army.
The rebels of Ikangi's army saw this, however, and fought back against the small unit, saving the young Flower Child. Barya, thankful for the rescue, agreed to accompany the rebels.
